Hyundai is planning to introduce one of its most popular cars – New i20 2020. The automaker is scheduling the launch at Diwali, which is usually the best period for car sales in India.

Hyundai customers were waiting for the new generation elite i20 since Geneva motor show 2020, but the show was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the launch of the premium hatchback was pushed back for a few months.

Meanwhile, the company has officially given a new launch date for the car. According to sources, Hyundai will commence the sales of its most popular premium hatchback Hyundai i20 at the Diwali season 2020.

Exteriors

Moreover, Hyundai has revealed a couple of images for the 3rd generation elite i20. The new model has more sporty and stylish looks with integrated LED DRLs at the front and the Z-shaped LED DRLs at the rear.

Of course, the new Indian-spec model will have slightly different looks. It will have a length of 4 meters while the international-spec i20 is 4,040mm long.

The Indian model will get quite a longer wheelbase that will make its cabin more spacious, Indeed, the 3rd generation has become bolder in its design.

It also contains new features, such as new glossy black cascading grills and dual-toned bumper.

The new model would also contain triangular-shaped fog lamps and rectangular-shaped headlamps. The new Hyundai i20 will also have Shark fin antenna and integrated roof spoiler.

Interiors

The new elite i20 comes with premium features including a 10.25-inch instrument console. The car has a 10.25- inch fully touchscreen infotainment system,compatible with apple car play and android auto.

The car has an ambient lighting, a new bose premium audio system, wireless charger, and pushbutton start. The Hyundai i20 will also get the Hyundai connected features blue-link.

It will also comprise front ventilated seats, six airbags, rear parking sensors and parking cameras, and auto climate control.

The cabin of the car looks fancier like top-end premium hatchbacks as it gets the new look of the dashboard as well.

The dashboard looks like a horizontal blade with ample convenience features.

Engines

The next-generation  Hyundai i20 BS6 will be available in 3 engine options. The car has engine options of 1.0-liter , 1.2-liter petrol with 83bhp, and 1.5 liter TDI diesel that currently powers its Korean sibling  Kia Seltos.

The 1.0-liter model will come with 3 cylinders turbocharged petrol and 118 bhp. All engines will be available in automatic and manual options.

Price

Hyundai would slightly increase the price of its new hatchback to compete with its rivals likes Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, And Tata Altroz.

The expected price of the new elite i20 will be between Rs. 5.6 lakhs to Rs. 9.8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
