Kia Motors’ subcompact SUV Kia Sonet has its global premiere recently Soon this car will be launched in India.

The competition will increase in the subcompact segment after the arrival of Sonet. Sonet will be Kia Motors’ third car after Seltos and Carnival.

Kia Sonet will be closely contested with Hyundai Venue, because of the same platform.

The company has given some special features in Sonet, which are not available in other vehicles of this segment like Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.

Ventilated seats

The new Kia Sonet will have ventilated seats for the first time in this segment for drivers and passengers.

This feature is currently available only in Seltos and Creta, even in the Venue, the company does not have this feature.

Remote engine start/stop in manual variants

Hyundai Venue also has the feature of remote engine start/stop, but the company offers this feature only in dual-clutch transmission i.e. DCT variant.

But Sonet’s manual, IMT (clutchless manual) and DCT gearbox variants will also get this feature

Led headlamps

Although the Venue also comes with projector headlamps and LED DRLs, the Sonet features the Crown Jewel LED headlamps. LED headlamps are better than existing halogen and projector lamps.

Front parking sensors

In this segment, only the Mahindra XUV300 features front parking sensors. Even Hyundai Venue does not come with front parking sensors.

The Kia Sonet is the second such SUV to get this feature after the Mahindra XUV300.

Diesel automatic combination

The Hyundai Venue features a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, which is derived from the Kia Seltos. The company has detuned the engine to give better mileage.

The same engine will be available in the Kia Sonet, but it will also be launched with a torque converter automatic gearbox. On the Venue, it only comes with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox.

Internet car technology

Kia Sonet will also get UVO Connect technology like the Hyundai Venue, which has many great remote features.

Like, you can turn off the AC, engine, and headlamps of the car from your mobile phone.

At the same time, this feature is not available in other subcompact SUVs including Tata Nexon.

Clutchless manual gearbox

Recently, the Hyundai Venue launched this feature, which will now also be available in Kia Sonet.

This feature will not provide a clutch. This feature will be a hybrid between manual and automatic.

For those who do not want to use their left leg much, but want to experience manual gearbox, definitely it will enhance their driving experience.

Apart from these two cars, no other SUV comes with this feature.

Six airbags

Although Sonet and Venue do not have any rating in crash test yet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300 have got a 5-star rating in the NCAP crash test as compared to them.

Dual front airbags are standard in Sonet, while the top variant will feature six airbags, which is not given in Nexon.

Wireless charging

Wireless charging will be available in the top-end variants of Kia Sonet.

This Hyundai Creta has the same feature. At the same time, this feature is useful for those who do not want to carry USB cable with them all the time.

Only Hyundai Venue has this feature in this segment, though, but it is not in Tata Nexon.

Automatic air purifier

Given the current situation in Corona, this feature is a must. Kia Sonet features this special automatic smart air purifier.

However, it only found in the top variant. In this segment, this feature is only available in the Venue, but not in Tata Nexon and other cars of this segment.
